The angel said to the shepherds, ‘Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’ Luke 2.11-12.

During Advent (from November 29th)

We are holding a Christmas Window Competition for everyone in Rothley Parish, with a prize of a big Christmas hamper. Please visit the Christmas Window Competition page for details!

Sunday 20th December

9.30 am Said Morning Service in church (limited numbers)
11.00 am Family Service (online)
6.00 pm onwards Carols by Candlelight * (online)

* For so many of us Christmas properly begins with this special service with carols sung by our choir and Christmas bible readings, so this year we have put together a selection of recordings from previous years into a special service that you will be able to enjoy in your own home.

Christingle

We can’t hold a Christingle Service in church this year, but we want to bring it to the homes of children in the village. Every child at Rothley School will be given a pack with a candle and a sheet of instructions to make a christingle. You can then get some cocktail sticks, red ribbon and sweets and watch the video on the Rothley Church website or YouTube channel to put it all together and light your christingle on Christmas Eve, just after it turns dark!

Carols by Candlelight

For so many of us Christmas properly begins with this special service with  carols sung by our choir and Christmas bible readings, so this year we have put together a selection of recordings from previous years into a special service that will be available on the Rothley Church website, Rothley Parish Church YouTube channeland via the Rothley Church Facebook Group too. This will go live after 6:00pm on Sunday 20th December. We do hope that many of you will be able to join in at home.

Friday 25th December - Christmas Day

To begin Christmas day we will have a joyful said service in the church building at 9:30am. We love to welcome visitors, but under the current guidelines can accommodate a maximum of 70 people. As we are not allowed to welcome everyone to the building there will be a special Christmas morning thought for the day by our Vicar, Rob Gladstone, from his home posted on the church website and the Rothley Parish Church YouTube channel.

Sunday 27th December

11.00am Family Service (online)
Please note: there is no service in the church building today
