Financial giving is part of our worship of God. It brings glory to Him and resources the work of His church within the world. As well as being a spiritual activity, the Bible teaches us to be practical about it:
“On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.” 1 Corinthians 16:2, NIV
The ministry of Rothley Parish Church and the Diocese of Leicester is sustained by the generous giving of church members. People who worship at the church make individual decisions about how they will respond, and we appreciate that each household’s circumstances are different, and they change over time. Every gift of whatever size is most welcome.
Planned regular giving helps the PCC to budget for the work of the church throughout the year. As a church, we donate 10% of our income to mission (details of our giving to organisations and individuals are listed in our Annual Report).
Ways to Give
- Standing Order
We prefer giving to be by regular standing order if possible, as this is the most efficient method.
- Cash / Cheque
You can also give by cash or cheque in the offerings in our Sunday services. If you want the church to be able to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation, planned giving envelopes are available for this purpose.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer and eligible to Gift Aid your donation, this would increase your gift by 25p for every £1 given at no extra cost to you or us. This is acheived through the church reclaiming the basic rate income tax on your donation, at no extra cost to you.
