UK Support
A regular proportion of the income received to Rothley Parish Church is set aside each year to support projects both at home and overseas. Here are examples of the projects to which the money was put to work in 2009 for UK support.
Y Advice and Support Centre (Leics)
The centre works to help and care for homeless people in the Leicester area. As well as supporting the centre with our tithe money a voluntary monthly collection is organised in the Church with food, clothing and household items. A Christmas appeal is always well supported each year and regular contributions of money and personnel are directed towards The Carpenters Arms in Loughborough.
In 2009 smaller amounts were donated to The Bible Society, Mercy Air, The Mothers Union Overseas Development Fund, Schools outreach and resources and The Children’s Society.
Church Pastoral Aid Society – The Church Pastoral Aid Society resources the ministry and mission of the Church in the UK. Our children’s and youth work is affiliated to CPAS and we use many of their resources and training material. CPAS is also one of the patrons of Rothley Parish Church and therefore plays a large part in the selection and appointment of our vicar!
