Surfers

Surfers are the children’s part of Rothley Parish Church with 5 groups of children ranging from the ‘Bubbles’ (3-5 year olds) to ‘The Grid’ (11-14 year olds). A team of 9 leaders and around 30 helpers assist on a rota basis to look after over 60 children. We meet during the 10.30am Sunday morning service.

Through Surfers we provide an interesting, lively and varied programme, appropriate to age, introducing Jesus Christ and exploring the gospel through a series of materials produced by Scripture Union.

In Surfers, we want the children to feel a part of the whole Church community, to feel happy and to invite their friends. The older ones also attend the monthly ignite youth service, while the younger ones often have craft mornings. All ages have outings at various times of the year including trips to Drayton Manor, Twin lakes and Stonehurst Farm. In the Autumn the children are invited to a weekend at The Oakes a Christian Holiday Centre in Sheffield.

Rothley Parish Church has a full Child protection policy and procedures are in line with the Diocese’s recommended child protection documents.
